Shahi Daal  Mash Recipe


Ingredients:

  • Black lentil skinless (mash dal) 2 cup 
  • Water  (for soaking) as required 
  • Water (for boiling) as required 
  • Oil 1/4 cup 
  • Onion puree 1 cup 
  • Red chili powder 1 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Salt 1 tablespoon / to taste
Ingredient for Tarka:

  • Oil 2-3 tablespoon 
  • Red button chili (dried)4-5 
  • Ginger (julienne)1/4  cup 
  • Garam masala powder 1 tablespoon
  • Green chili 2-3
Instructions:

  1. In  a  bowl add dal mash and water soak for 30 minutes 
  2. In a pot heat water and bring it to boil add soaked dal boil until  80% done 
  3. In another pot heat oil and add onion puree cook for 4- 5 minutes add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute 
  4. Add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes get soft 
  5. Add red chili powder turmeric powder cumin powder red chili flakes salt coriander powder and cook until oil separates 
  6. Add chicken and cook until chicken is half done now add boiled dal and cook until its fully tender you shahi dal mash is ready 
  7. In a pan heat oil and add red button chili ginger green chili and garam masala powder  cook for a minute 
  8. Pour the prepared  tarka over dal mash and garnish with green coriander your Shahi dal mash is ready to serve
